What's an 'account' - the business or the individual user?

The business. So, if Google is a customer of yours with 5 user licenses, Google counts as 1 account (not 5).

I'd like to limit costs. Can I ignore some of my accounts from pricing even if they use my product?

Yep! Vitally has support to setup rules that include or exclude certain accounts. For example, if you send us a

mrr
trait, you can choose to ignore accounts where that value is $0. Additionally, you can setup qualification rules for trials that auto-ignores any new trials that are unqualified.

If a customer is ignored, we will not process any analytics data (e.g. Segment data) for them.

When do I need to switch to a new plan - when I hit my MRR or tracked accounts limit?

Whichever one you hit first :)

Are there any limits on tracked users?

Not at the moment. However, if you are a company that sells to large user populations in the enterprise, you have a small number of accounts, and you do not track your MRR in Vitally, you'll likely be required to subscribe to a paid plan. Our Free plan is only meant for early-stage startups with limited MRR.

What happens if I exceed the included tracked account/MRR limits?

Once you approach your limit, we'll send you an email letting you know. Once you exceed your limit, we'll send you recurring emails reminding you to upgrade your plan or reduce the amount of accounts you track in Vitally.

If you exceed your limit for an extended period of time and do not upgrade to a new plan, we may stop updating your account with new data.
